A tactical approach: Bengaluru’s dominance on the field.

From the first minute of the game, Bengaluru FC controlled the ball and the pace of the match. Coach Simon Grayson had the pieces for him a bit more organized and agile in possession which is always the desired shape for a striker. On the contrary, Northeast United did not manage to get past the walls of defenses erected by Bengaluru and the Blues nullified every threat the home side tried to pose.

During the second half of the competitive match, Bengaluru FC’s midfield trio was fantastic while keeping possession and providing classy services to the attackers. The match was in an overwhelming form for the defense of Northeast United as they were thoroughly tested by the Creative Noguera Singh, Powerful Udantha, and Roy Krishna.

First Half: Early Pressure and Breakthrough.

Bengaluru FC clearly outplayed their opponents after listening to the tactics put in place before the match, as the first half was a tactical battle that saw superb individual pieces from the Blues.

Earlier on, as part of the counter-attacks, Northeast United sought to exploit the gaps created. They did pose a reasonable threat but the Northeast defense spearheaded by veteran Sandesh Jhingan and Parag Shit effectively neutralized them.

Bengaluru’s pressure in the second half of the game paid dividends in the 28th minute when Roy Krishna scored the first goal with precision. The goal spearheaded a wonderful team goal and Noguera Jhingan who brilliantly linked up with Krishna saw him slot the ball into the net winning the match handily 2-0.

After taking the lead, Northeast United tried to level the match, but couldn’t crack the solid Bengaluru defense, who kept dominating the game in possession and looked dangerous after winning the ball back, which allowed Noguera to threaten the Blues during counter-attacks.

Noguera grabs the win in the second half.

In the second half, Northeast United seemed much more determined to find the equalizer. Still, the disciplined defensive structure of Bengaluru FC was no match, and goalkeeping heroics from Gurpreet Singh Sandhu helped his team hold on to a 1-0 lead.

It was Noguera’s stunning 65th minute goal that clinched him the match through a shot from outside the box.

The Brazilian midfielder Noguera scored an impressive goal for Bengaluru after snatching the ball from a poor clearance attempt by Northeast United’s team, beating Dagar. With that goal, his team got a swift 2-0 lead, showcasing Noguera’s skills in front of the goal and heightening his value in the Indian Super League.

The Iron side’s most unfortunate night

Northeast United displayed outdated football throughout the evening, as they were not able to put together clear opportunities to score while having brief stages of control. NC’s offense was blunt and outwitted Bengaluru’s defense, making it clear that the iron side had no plans and zero coordination when attacking.

Though there were some noteworthy spontaneous plays by many individuals like Rakesh Pradhan and Lalkhawpuimawia, Northeast United was still able to execute a coordinated multi player attack sequence that would be threatening to Bengaluru. Feeling more agitated and unsatisfied as the game proceeds, they failed to score and were stuck in a stagnant utility based rhythm for the rest of the game.

The blue brigade is on a roll

The consecutive wins have allowed Bengaluru to maintain momentum in ISL 2024-25. Under coach Simon Grayson, the Blues have started the campaign strongly with fortress-like defending and inventive midfield play and deadly finishing from the forwards.

The win not only boosted chances of getting a high position in the table but also firmly planted the club as one of the contenders for the title this season.

Great leaders like Roy Krishna and creative players like Noguera are essential for Bengaluru FC to be very successful, and with more games to play, the squad seems to be well-positioned to make a run for the ISL championships this season.

Final Thoughts Carrying the day for Bengaluru FC in emphatic style.

Bengaluru FC put on a magical display with, portraying that they can easily calm, exhibit tactical discipline, and attack with precision as they scored two nothing against Northeast United. Roy Krishna and Rafael Júnior Noguera have already made Noguera the most entertaining of all ISL clubs and it’s his Indian side which is the most famous now.

That will definitely help their confidence in reaching the top for 2024-2025 season but for Northeast United it is time to regroup and address all those ongoing issues if they wish to minimize the damage to their season.
